It's Wednesday! That means there's a new page of Christopher's fill-in story "The Punishment" up at Girlamatic. Yeah, I know, I'm a bit late with my weekly reminder here, but I'm still a bit tuckered form this weekend, mostly due to The First Annual Stumptown Comics Fest. Which Christopher also attended, and then went on to do this week's Bruno, his Dicebox page and launched Little Dee. (So, I'm a wimp, what can I say? Except that it's Bill's fault.) The Stumptown Comics Festival went quite well, even beyond the fact that we got 150 attendees and were only hoping for 100. And considering the torrential rain that was going on that was quite impressive. So not only did the money invested in printing, advertising and table rentals get reimbursed but there's actually a small fund to help kick start next year's Fest, which Indigo is shooting to be twice as big with twice the antendees, yet the same low prices for entry and table space. Getting twice the numbers of exhibitors should be no problem, not with all the cartoonists I know who stopped by the Old Church this past Sunday, liked what they saw and were already planning to participate next year. And just every exhibitor this time out is already psyched for next year's. Hell, I might even have books to sell at that point. |
